GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

 Chroma Systems Solutions, Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of power testing instruments and systems including programmable AC Power Source and DC Power Supplies, AC loads and DC Electronic Loads, Digital Power Meters and Automated Testing Systems for applications in LED Lighting, Led Drivers, Aerospace, Defense, Military, Automotive, Medical, Battery, Solar, Marine, and Regulatory Testing.

Chroma Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking an Applications Engineer responsible hardware and software applications for power conversion devices using Chroma’s Automated Test Systems (ATE). The Applications Engineer is responsible for reviewing customer’s technical requirements and work with Engineers to develop appropriate automated test solutions, as well as setup demonstrations, and develop application notes and training material.

Related applications include testing of switching power supply, DC-DC converter, battery, electric vehicle (EV) charger, solar panel (PV) inverter, LED power driver, medical equipment electrical safety test.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Gather customer application technical requirements and work with the Engineering team on possible solutions.

·         Perform electrical tests using Chroma’s automated tests systems and equipment.

·         Pre-sales internal and external support for new projects, working closely with our Sales team.

·         Set-up and participate in performing product demonstrations.

·         Develop application notes and training material as needed.

·         Develop simple software routines for custom automated test systems using Chroma PowerPro test executive.

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Education: BSEE degree or similar.

·         Basic knowledge of programming (LabVIEW, C, Python, Visual Basic, etc.) and test executive applications a plus.

·         Experience using general electrical lab test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc. Previous experience of programmable test equipment a plus.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Effectively presents ideas to peers, management and outside customers.

·         Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES

This is a non-supervisory position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

General office skills and dexterity are required.
