GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Chroma Systems Solutions, Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of power testing instruments and systems including programmable AC Power Source and DC Power Supplies, AC loads and DC Electronic Loads, Digital Power Meters and Automated Testing Systems for applications in LED Lighting, Led Drivers, Aerospace, Defense, Military, Automotive, Medical, Battery, Solar, Marine, and Regulatory Testing.
As the Electric Vehicle Business Development Director, you will be the in-house expert for a line of test Instrumentation and systems designed for use by the electric vehicle community. You will craft the messaging and positioning for the products. You'll conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. You will grasp and translate technical capabilities and differentiators into customer benefit. In your role, you will be the expert in identifying key customers, researching competition, identifying market trends for the electric vehicle market and transfer that knowledge to our sales and marketing teams. You will also be the primary interface to our R&D teams to recommend new products and enhancements to current products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for providing the sales team with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product. This involves providing product training, content for application notes, and white paper development.
• Responsible for identifying Key Accounts and going to customer site with sales to help close orders.
• Act as point of first reference for all product related inquiries and work collaboratively with sales, applications and/or production facility to address any technical issues that may arise.
• Conduct market research to assess customer attitudes, market conditions, and competitive information and recommend action plans from the research. Provide ideas and strategies for new products and features
• Assist with the development of the annual marketing plan. Interact with marketing specialists and management regarding product campaigns including promotional activities, direct mail and trade events
• Has responsibility to plan strategy for and grow assigned business segment
•5+ years of applications, product management or business development in an EV related product line
• Excellent people and management skills to interact with cross-functional teams and executive management
• Very strong written communication skills
• Willing to travel 25% and/or when necessary
• Existing contacts in the EV industry
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of applications, product management or business development in an EV related product line
• Bachelor’s Degree - EE or related degree
• Excellent people and management skills to interact with cross-functional teams and executive management
• Very strong written communication skills
• Willing to travel 25% and/or when necessary
• Existing contacts in the EV industry
• Salary: commensurate with experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES
This is a non-supervisory position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
General office skills and dexterity are required. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
